Ferndale Public Schools Board of Education Appoints New Trustee, Mark de la Vergne
Ferndale, MI – The Ferndale Public Schools Board of Education is pleased to announce that interviews have been conducted to fill the board vacancy created on November 18, 2024 that expires on December 31, 2026. During a Special Meeting of the Board of Education held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the Board interviewed seven highly qualified candidates, each bringing unique strengths and perspectives to the table.
While the decision was difficult due to the exceptional pool of applicants, the Board has selected and appointed Mark de la Vergne to serve as trustee and complete the remainder of the term after Peter Ceglarek submitted his resignation.
Mark's commitment to our schools, community, and students will play an integral role in supporting the mission and vision of Ferndale Public Schools. Following the selection, de la Vergne was immediately sworn in by the Board to begin service without delay.
“It’s great to see such strong interest in joining the school board, which truly reflects the strength and dedication of the FPS community,” said Sandra Dukhie, Board President. “We are excited to have Mark join our board and look forward to his contributions.”
The Board thanks all candidates for their interest, dedication, and willingness to serve the Ferndale community.
