On Saturday, Nov 18, Quinn LaTosch drove the Oakland Schools Technical Campus Southeast (OSTC-SE) robotics team to victory in the Oakland County Competitive Robotics Association (OCCRA) finals. The OSTC-SE team was in alliance with team 7692, the Beach Bums from AGBU Manoogian High School, to take the victory. The Oakland County Competitive Robotics Association is a full-contact robotics competition; students built and controlled 120-pound robo-gladiators that placed 9” tennis balls in a central goal while opponents tried to stop them. OCCRA robots are entirely student-designed and built, separating them from the FIRST robotics competition program. The rules of the competition allow for and encourage corporation partnerships but will not allow precise machining or processes that cannot be carried out in the schools. Quinn also participates in the OSTC-SE FIRST Robotics team.
