The Ferndale HS Wind Ensemble got a visit from composers David Biedenbender and Katahj Copley on Tuesday February 6. Dr. Biedenbender is a composition professor at MSU, and Mr. Copley is a DMA composition student of his. The Wind Ensemble is preparing pieces by them to perform at MSBOA Band Festival. The students learned a lot about how and why the pieces were written, and received a ton of feedback from the composers on how to better perform their pieces.
