vote for Danielle Cover as Teacher of the Year

Today is the LAST DAY (March 15) for voting for the Hour Detroit Best Teacher of the Year for Ferndale Lower teacher Danielle Cover! If you haven’t already done so, be sure to get your vote in!

Mrs. Cover has been a teacher with Ferndale Public Schools for 14 years. Throughout her career, she has taught every grade from first through fifth, but has spent most of her years as a first grade teacher. Mrs. Cover is not just a first grade teacher though. Secretly, she is also a Special Agent Instructor for the CIA-Cover’s Intelligence Agency! Mrs. Cover is currently instructing her twelfth class of Special Agents. Each new group of Agents is named according to the military alphabet and the current class is Lima Company. One of her favorite things about creating the CIA is when she sees former students and families and they refer to their time in first grade by their company name.

Mrs. Cover received both her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s degree in curriculum and teaching from Michigan State University. She also recently completed LETRS training through the Michigan Department of Education which is a two-year, 120-hour professional development program. Mrs. Cover was part of the first cohort of Michigan educators to complete the training in support of MDE’s initiative to improve literacy outcomes for Michigan students.

You can vote for Mrs. Cover by going to http://tinyurl.com/HourDetroitBestOf2024. Best Teacher is located in the Community and Personality section.
