UHS Student Council hosted their 6th Annual Black Excellence Celebration this week! The event showcased the vibrant talents and achievements of the UHS student body. The night was filled with artistic expressions ranging from spoken word poetry to musical performances, and featured UHS alumna, Amari Jordan-Toone, as the guest speaker. Attendees were also treated to several exhibits showcasing the work of the UHS Newspaper Team, Movie-Making class, Art Club, and more. Winners of the Honoring Black Voices Writing Competition and the Black History Month Art & Photography Competition were recognized during the program, as well. "This is such a special event for our students and families. I'm so proud of the work that our Student Council members do to organize and host the Black Excellence Celebration! I can't wait to see how this event grows and evolves!", said UHS Student Council advisor, Sarah Rodgers.
