TCEC, UHS and Ferndale Middle Schools students and staff members had the opportunity to participate in the Michigan Construction Career Day at the Operating Engineers Training Facility in Howell, MI on May 2nd. Students had hands-on experiences operating heavy machinery like front loaders and cranes as well as participating in skilled trades like laying brick and working with concrete, working with tile, handling smaller machines while building and working with roofing materials to name a few. This annual event provides students with not only hands on experience but information about the career pathways that lead to these very stable and lucrative opportunities.
